- Environment analysis I will make
recommendations as to the proper environment that you will need to
best help your horse stay as healthy and sound as possible.
- Horse analysis This
involves watching the movement of the horse to see if there are any
irregularities in his/her gait. Examining the foot and rating
each of the structures to see what rehab, if any, is needed.
And then taking solar, lateral, and frontal pictures of each foot
before and after the trim. These are used for reference so as
to monitor the feet over time.
- HPT Trim (High Performance Trim)
I
will give your horse's feet a trim balanced to the internal arch,
not balanced to the hoof capsule.
- Horse handling
If your horse is
hard to handle I will work with your horse (to a point) and give you
advice on what to do in-between my visits. I don't mind
working with your horses but if I spend much more than an hour with your
horse I'm afraid there will be an extra fee only because that is
the only way I can afford to do it.
- Shoe removal I take off shoes but I
don't put them back on. I won't take off shoes if I don't
think there is enough structure to support the horse unless I get
commitment from the owner to follow a strict program designed to
return a sound foot under the horse.
- Travel Time
Because of the high
cost of fuel and the distances that I sometimes have to travel
(which I don't mind) I am forced to charge travel time when I have
to drive over 10 miles one way.
